The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) of the United States Department of War (DoW) has chosen Google Cloud’s Gemini for Government to be the first enterprise AI to be deployed to 3 million civilian and military people on GenAI.mil.
To serve government agencies’ unclassified business processes, Gemini for Government is an enterprise-grade, AI-optimized platform that combines the best of Google’s FedRAMP High and DoW Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorized commercial cloud, industry-leading AI models, and agentic solutions.
These powerful features will be available to DoW users, such as Google-caliber enterprise search, which is intended to greatly increase worker productivity by simplifying difficult administrative duties. Policy handbook summaries, project-specific compliance checklists, key term extraction from work statements, and thorough risk assessments for operational planning are a few examples.
To safeguard DoW’s data and expedite organizational goals including updating outdated systems and enhancing real-time decision-making, the platform allows DoW to deploy IL5 data sovereignty rules.
The DoW, one of the biggest employers in the world, adopted Gemini for Government, demonstrating the technology platform’s exceptional capacity to provide enterprise-ready, secure, and sovereign AI that supports the department’s modernization and productivity objectives.
