G42 announced significant progress on Stargate UAE, a 1GW large-scale AI infrastructure cluster under development by Khazna Data Centers, a G42 subsidiary, located within the 5GW UAE–U.S. AI Campus in Abu Dhabi.
Unveiled in May alongside global partners OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank, Stargate UAE has swiftly transitioned from design to construction under Khazna’s leadership, representing a major milestone in the UAE’s AI infrastructure development.
In collaboration with its partners, the team is fast-tracking the first 200MW phase of the planned 1GW mega-scale project. A G42 spokesperson confirmed that construction is actively progressing and remains on track for completion in 2026.
Khazna has implemented a design-to-build strategy to ensure smooth execution from concept to completion. The design and engineering phases for Stargate UAE are advancing on schedule, with significant progress in civil, structural, and architectural construction.
Meanwhile, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are nearing completion, and key modular components have entered production. The project has also secured all long-lead equipment and begun receiving initial mechanical system deliveries, reflecting the robustness and reliability of its supply chain operations.
Designed to advance the UAE’s mission of building national-scale AI infrastructure, the facility will act as a cornerstone of the nation’s AI ecosystem, powering G42’s vision of an “Intelligence Grid” and paving the way toward an AI-native society.
